DREDGE DREAD: UPDATE
The denizens of the Hazleton Area have once again gathered to discuss the dredge fill question. This time on Aug 10, 7 PM at Lobitz's catering hall. Flyers were passed around by an unknown source, which is probably smart by whoever is resposible because anyone caught disagreeing with the powers that be will probably end up in the dredge fill they, the carpetbaggers wanna truck in anyway. Guest speaker at this PUBLIC MEETING was Dr. Judith Johnsrud apparantly of the Environmental Coalition on Nuclear Power to evidently discuss how radiation leaks into river dredge and fly ash, and the effects of said radiation. Oh BOY!
Unfortunately, Hazleton Pravda was unable to send any reporters to this anti-dredge meeting titled "Stop the River Dredge Sludge and Fly Ash Dumping," so anyone with information please AS ALWAYS feel free to write in with comments and opinons. We at HP do hope MORE progress was made toward solidarity against this environmentally hazardous and foolish plan to truck in MORE filth to Hazleton.
HP will continue to update on this twisted scheme to make the rich richer and the poor sicker as events unfold. In the meantime, stand up and SAY NO TO DREDGE AND FILL!
